Summary

Born in Barcelona artist Miki Montlló spent much of his childhood moving from city to city. After completing his studies at Escola Joso de Cómic in Barcelona his first major break was on the cult spanish animation movie “Nocturna”, which he worked on for over a year. In the video game industry he has collaborated with the spanish Pendulo Studios or the british Revolution software, creators of the legendary saga Broken Sword. He also worked on feature films such as “A Magic Tale”, “The impossible” or “A Monster Calls”, by J. Bayona. It was in 2011 that he abandoned everything to accomplish his childhood dream of becoming a comic book artist, creating his own project “WARSHIP JOLLY ROGER”, which attracted the attention of the belgian publisher Dargaud.

He has just finished the fourth and last book of this saga, and the series has been translated into French, Spanish, German, and English, Italian and Dutch and has been published internationally. At the same time he combines his professional career with a semi nomadic lifestyle, living in Ireland, Germany, and Spain, collaborating with the Oscar nominated animation studios Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), where he worked on the development of projects such as the BREADWINNER or WOLFWALKERS, or Laika (USA). He also collaborates regularly with the videogame company Blizzard, making comics and illustrations for their most acclaimed game OVERWATCH.
In his down time he teaches for the online art school CGMA.
